Feel the ground. Grounding is a practice often referenced when discussing mental health and mindfulness. It allows us to refocus our attention onto the here and now moments and away from negative or challenging thoughts and emotions.

Techniques to ground oneself can include:
🫁 deep breathing
🧊 put your hands in cold water or hold ice while paying attention to how it feels, how it melts
💪move your body (walk, run, jumping jacks...)

You can also LITERALLY feel the ground! The earth is always there for us. So next time you are experiencing difficult thoughts or emotions, try going outside and touch the fuzzy moss, feel the smoothness of a shiny rock, or maybe hug a tree 🌳
