TRAIL TALK

TRAIL TALK

We first explored Steep Rock Preserve @steeprockassociation back in March of this year. The kids loved the trail, bridges, river banks, and tunnel! I kept thinking how fascinating this hike would be to do each season.

The 235 ft tunnel, constructed in 1872 by coal miners, had huge ice formations when we visited. The ice is said to accumulate from top to bottom in the coldest months of the year. Now in summer, the cooled tunnel would be a welcome reward during a hot hike.

Looking forward to getting out on the trails this weekend! Wherever you are, and wherever you go, embrace the cool things around you 😎
